Photos (ignore different coloring, I'm bad at taking pics) are 1. before shaving 2. after shaving, 3. lint that's removed. Really brings fabric back to life.REVIEW:First things first: For the love of God do not buy the one that requires batteries - I used like 10 batteries (2 AA) in one day. Get the rechargeable one, you can still use it while it's plugged in charging (which you will need if you use it for more than 10 minutes).Pros:1. I love this little machine for my Poshmark sales. It effectively removes piles.2. It's easy to set up and use.3. The best part that sets this one aside from other shavers is that it has a protective casing over the blade so you have different options for trimming length (sort of like a beard trimmer), which is great for trimming fabrics of different thickness. It's easy to pop that plastic piece off and on. I haven't seen this in other similar products, but maybe I need to look more?4. It's small, light, easy to hold and move around in different directions (up and down, circular, etc.)5. At the end of the day, it does what it's supposed to do. It's really improved my clothes (from looking old to brand new).6. Good at removing piles from a variety of different fabrics. For super thick wool, I would recommend using a fabric lint brush first, then the shaver.7. It's easy to clean (just remove the lint from case, take off plastic cover and blow into it. You also can turn it on while the lint cover is off to get some lint trapped behind the blade (lint will fly everywhere)8. You can tell it needs cleaning because there's too much lint because it starts to get hot and slow down.9. Has helped increase sales on my clothes and refresh them to back to life.10. Inexpensive.11. Other shavers don't let you use it while it's plugged in and charging (you have to wait hours for it to finish charging to use it), so this beats those. Ain't nobody got time for that.CONS:Basically, it has a lot of the same cons as other shavers I've tried.1. Like I mentioned, battery life is a killer. Even when you get the rechargeable one, it only lasts for a short amount of time (not enough to complete a women's small shirt). Same with other razors.2. I've noticed that the battery life decreases as you use it (first use you get like 30 minutes of cord free shaving), second use you get 20 minutes, and so on. Same with other razors.3. The instructions don't say how long to charge it for, there's a red light that indicates when it's plugged in and charging, but the red light never turns green or anything to indicate that it's done charging (even when charging overnight). Maybe I'm frying the battery by leaving it charge for too long, who knows?4. On the other hand, other different brands have crappy battery life too.5. The plastic part where the lint goes comes loose a lot and you'll get lint flying everywhere. (even if paying attention to putting it back on correctly). A tiny piece of tape helps.6. The lint container also fills up quickly, I'm constantly emptying it. Same thing with other razors though.5. You have to REALLY PAY ATTENTION to when shaving, I've accidentally knicked the fabric and small holes before. This is the same as other shavers though.6. It's very loud. Much louder than an electric razor for the face. I was surprised at that. It's a bit annoying because I want to watch TV/listen to music when I'm doing this and I can't unless using soundproof headphones. Same with other razors.6. Like other shavers, it takes A LONG TIME. it's very monotonous and boring task. You have to go slow or else you'll tear the fabric and you have to go over the same spot a bunch of times.OVERALL:I first bought the one that needs batteries then ran out of batteries in a day so I returned that for the rechargeable one. There's a possibility that I fried the battery, I'm going to return the one I have and try another one. Maybe I got a faulty one.I've tried a couple of the other "best sellers" on Amazon, they don't have the plastic cover that I REALLY LIKE and have the same cons as this one. If anyone knows others that have this plastic piece please let me know!!I recommend this product.I read the reviews before purchasing this product. Once I received the product, I tried it on a less costly piece of clothing for practice. This item worked very well. I then used is on an older cashmere sweater that is of better quality than what is available on the market right now - which was taking a chance - and it did a great job. I think the best thing to remember is that this is a shaver which means that there are very sharp objects moving around in the tool, so it is best to use a light hand. You aren't shaving hair on skin, so don't press down and drag it across the fabric. The cover with the holes in it does a great job of catching the little stringy fibers in the pills which will then pull up only the pill. If you use a heavy hand, you risk it grabbing more fibers than needed and dragging the base material with it. I used a light hand, and it worked great. When it works really well, it is pretty difficult to not keep doing it until you have exhausted your supply of pilled clothing. My linen pants that have a bit of polyester in them, which creates pills on the fabric, look new after using the shaver on them.Great product!!I bought this to shave my couch.I could not be happier. Good quality, comfortable to hold. You can charge it then use it or use while it’s on the charger. The charger is a good length. It does not have a long charge life but I always use it on the charger so it doesn’t bother me at all.It is a small product so do not expect it to do a large job (couch) without having to clean it out multiple times. You will hear a change when it’s ready to be clean. I not only empty the little tray but also unscrew the silver cap and clean around the blades. It’s easy if you use tweezers. Don’t skip this step if you want a clean finish on your couch. Also, I removed the clear cap to allow for a closer shave, test the different settings before you remove it. Others have said that it is really loud, I disagree. There are definitely some that are very loud but this one is not.Overall I really love it.Pour yourself a drink, start a movie or podcast and clean/shave your couch!! It’s soo satisfying ?This little shaver worked great removing all the pilling from my Merino Wool socks. I was hesitant because this machine uses batteries and typically those devices aren't as reliable as plug in types. I am extremely happy with how they turned out. I made these socks about 5 years ago and after a few years they started pilling. Still I wore them but they kept getting worse so as a last resort, I thought I'd try this fabric shaver. I would definitely recommend this shaver. However, one sock took me about 20 minutes to shave so take your time and you'll be please with the results. Most of the pilling ended up in the catch basin. Some of the pilling stayed inside the machine but I was able to scoop it out with a Q-tip.It does a great job removing the lint, but there are few things you need to know.First, the battery pocket can get hot after 5 minutes of use. If you open it, the batteries will be hot as well. If you need to de-lint an entire coat, stop working every 5 minutes, even if you don't have to clean the lint tray or blades.Second, you may notice the lint is being removed but the lint collection tray is empty. The lint can get caught in the blades; so, you will need to pop off the plastic guard, unscrew the mesh thingy, and pop out the blades to remove the trapped lint.Third, this works great for small jobs, but if you want to clean an entire wool coat you will need to clean the blades several times. While removing lint from a (USA) size XL wool pea coat I had to clean the blades 7 times. It really, really did remove all of the lint, but cleaning the blades became annoying.el futuro es hoy, neta que antes no era nadie pero desde que tengo el despeluchatron 5000, soy el alma de las fiestas.I really like this product. I was a little hesitant to buy it based on some of the negative reviews, but so far it's done exactly as expected.I didn't find it painstakingly slow; I was able to defuzz an entire shirt (front and back) in under 20 minutes. It filled the lint holder twice, but I found that quick and easy to empty. The shirt feels so soft and looks new.I would definitely recommend this to someone - I don't think it will last forever, it doesn't feel like the hardiest little machine, but for $15 it does the trick!Photo: back of 5+ year old cardigan. Left side is untouched, right side is after 5min of using the defuzzer - looks almost newLOVE this! Just got it last night and have spent hours de fuzzing everything in the house! Likely I need a life but that aside, I love this! Great value, great product! Didn’t snag! You can take the guard off and use it! It isn’t actually hard to clean out like the other reviews indicate, just take the lint trap off, shake it out, then hold the device over the garbage and turn it on for a second and all the bits fly into the garbage. Wonderful. I will likely buy more as gifts because I’m unreasonably excited about this product. Pillows, sweaters, all! Beware! I’m coming for you!I had a small fabric diffuser laying around the house but I was in the market for something with a little more surface area and a bit more muscle. After looking around the web at some reviews I noticed that this model was consistently highly rated so I took a chance on it. It was It was a breeze removing excess fibres from a few sweaters. There is definitely some room for improvement but that's not to say it didn’t to a great job. I would give it a rating of 8/10 for pill removal. There is a rechargeable model for a few bucks more, but I thought it was a bit overkill for a fabric shaver.I am a bit bewildered as to why the waste container has such a narrow design, it makes for a difficult process emptying the contents. This is a bit of detractor to an otherwise well crafted device.Pros:☺ 1 ⅞" shaving head☺ comfortable ergonomic design☺ Lots of shaving muscle☺ 3 settingsCons:☹ A nuisance emptying the fill containerOverall: If you’re looking for solid mid sized fabric shaver this is a great device. .Recommended.I enjoy helping consumers make informed decisions. Thank you very much for the 'Yes' helpful vote, and please feel free to comment or ask questions related to this product or other items I have reviewed on Amazon.Definitely brought new life to our jumpers. Several jumpers had been unworn for ages because of bobbling - nothing else at all wrong with them. Came back to life with this. Would recommend but suggest that if jumper really bobbly you do need to take the guard bit off the front for a closer 'attack'. Apart from that all good.
