I noticed that with the current inflation, I bought roughly 200-250$ worth of shaving supplies a year, mainly due to the cost of disposable razor blades and the amount of shaving cream used. I already own several other Philips products, including their amazing Soniccare Prestige electric toothbrush, so for me, it was a no-brainer. I knew what I was purchasing. I first read about the differences between the Prestige model and the lesser regular series 9000 model with the oled screen and pressure sensitive light to help you shave properly. To me, it's just like the difference between the Prestige Soniccare and the Smart series from their electric toothbrush line. Ultimately I just wanted the best. I'm the kind of person that think: instead of buying mutliple cheaper products over time just cause they do the job well enough, I will recoup the cost by spending more at first and own a better product at the end of the day. The built feel solid and if you want something to last long, provide you take care of it, well look no further. I was surprised at how close this rotary shaving razor cut. Aside from a few spots in my neckline, it manages to shave with the same precision than my older Gilette disposable razor using foam and it's also a lot less messy that way. I like that the screen is simple, only showing you the info you need: battery indicator and an icon letting you know when it's time to change the blades (once a year usually) or when you should clean it under the tap (after every shave). I used it without foam, cause my goal was to cut on shaving supplies and it does the job so well that I won't need to go back to my old ways. The weight is good, not too heavy and not too light, the head with the blades feel great, I haven't experience any discomfort, but that might change depending on the shape of your face. Sure it has less features than the other similar model with the OLED screen, but ask yourself if you need all the gimmicks or just an amazing razor that will last a long time. I like the wireless charging pad and I know some will say it takes too much space on a bathroom countertop or sink, but I don't leave electrical devices plugged in near a sink, that's not secure. I have a spot in my bedroom where I charge my stuff when needed, so it's not an issue. The charging pad lock magnetically, so the razor won't move if you don't push it on the ground. Charging is fast and you can still plug it with the included cable, cause yeah it comes with the alternative and also a nice looking, sturdy travelling case, which should be enough for most people. Some stats show that this model has better performance than the regular series 9000, I don't know much about this, but to me, the Prestige is 100% worth it. A great buy! Especially for the price of a year worth of shaving supplies, if that's the case with you.
